However, in these tutorials and elsewhere, it is rare to find someone who uses Photoshop’s editing and organizing tools for how they work. And with Photoshop you can easily see why: the image creation and manipulation process is incredibly easy; it has abundant overlays that provide the most intuitive way of accomplishing the various processes; and with the large amount of tutorials available that teach its various features, you can easily learn Photoshop’s entire toolkit.

With all these tools and access to so many tutorials, however, if you want to do the most common editing tasks, you need to learn the Photoshop user interface. You need to know the basic editing tools and where to find them, the menus to use when doing certain tasks, and how to use them.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you the Photoshop user interface, starting with the basic tools you’ll need to manipulate an image. We’ll then show you some more complex techniques, such as creating layers or overlays, using Paths to create special effects, and working with the image’s layers to create multiple images. Finally, you’ll see how to save an image with different formats, such as JPEG and TIFF. If you haven’t touched Photoshop before, you’ll gain an understanding of how to manipulate your images with this tutorial.

Get the right kind of brush

Brushes are the most popular editing tool in Photoshop. You can use brushes to create new backgrounds, shadows, outlines, and more. Photoshop comes with several built-in brushes, and you can purchase additional ones from the Adobe store.

Brushes can be applied to images that already have other backgrounds and lighting. You can also create a brand-new brush, using a default brush as a starting point. Creating a brand-new brush using the default brush is a simple process.

First, open an image that will be used as the basis for your brush. (In this tutorial, we’ll work with a 16 x 12 image that’s 300 dpi, but the process is the same with any size image.)

Click the Brush tool, and in the Tool Options bar, click “Create new brush” to create a new brush and fill it with the current foreground color.

Use the colors along the bottom of the Tool Options bar to select a color for the foreground of the new brush, and the colors along the top of the Tool Options bar to select a color for the background. If you don’t see these colors along the bottom of the Tool Options

Why does explicit use of a bijective monotonically increasing map preserve the set structure?

I read a statement in a paper in which is said that if $f\colon X \to \mathbb{R}$ is a bijective monotonically increasing function, and $B$ is a subset of $X$, then $f(B)$ is a subset of $\mathbb{R}$. The authors used the term “explicit”. In my head, the assertion looks too trivial to be true.
At first, I thought that in the sense of $\forall x\in X, f(x) \in f(X)$. The author then demonstrated that $f(B)$ is a subset of $\mathbb{R}$ by a single argument that I can’t prove.
I asked myself if there was any common sense for this. I have no idea.

A bijection $f:X\to Y$ is a surjection and an injection. Surjectivity means that if you send $y\in Y$ to $x_y\in X$, then you can always go through $x_y$ to the point in $X$ to which it is mapped, and an injection means that if $x,y$ in $X$ have $f(x)=f(y)$, then you can always get from $x$ to $y$.
By that definition, a bijection preserves order.

Nickel perchlorate increases the swimming activity and cutaneous vasoconstriction of toad Bufo melanostictus.
Nickel (Ni) is an essential element in the human diet but it may also be deleterious in overdosed form. Oxidative stress contributes to the toxic effect of Ni. In mammals, Ni perchlorate (NiCl(4)⋅4H(2)O) causes vasodilation and increases the locomotor activity. This study investigated the effects of Ni on toad Bufo melanostictus. The influence of NiCl(4)⋅4H(2)O on swimming activity and cutaneous vasoconstriction was examined in toads. The concentration of Ni in tissues was also measured. The swimming test showed that the toad could avoid NiCl(4)⋅4H(2)O through a process of learning.

Brushes and Pens

The following brush categories will be used later in the tutorial: Line, Painting, Scattering, Dusting, and Gradient.
Almost all brushes in Photoshop have both Spacing and Opacity settings. The Spacing setting determines the size of the brush outline.
Every tool has a default color which has predefined settings, but as noted, you can change it to any color using the Color Picker tool.

The most useful brushes in Photoshop are:

Thin Black Pen: Used to outline objects.

Thin White Pen: Used to outline objects.

White Pen: Used to erase entire areas.

Black Pen: Used to erase areas.

Pencil: Used to draw lines.

The Brush Tool

The Brush Tool is a Wacom Tablet graphics tool. It looks a lot like a pen or pencil. The Brush tool works in a similar way to some Paint program’s brushes, and unlike pens or pencils, you can also use it to paint.

The Brush Tool is accessed by clicking the Brush or Pencil Tool icon in the toolbox.
You can switch between a Brush and Pencil by pressing the Tab or Shift key. The Pencil Tool creates a basic line and the Brush Tool creates either a free-form line or a closed shape.

Brush outline color

The Brush can be set to Solid, Gradient, Radial Gradient, and Pattern, or any of the other brush color options. When using a Brush or Pencil, the Brush Tool can be used in several ways to create effects.

Most effects are created by drawing a closed shape. Unlike the line effect brushes, the Brush can be used with any size, shape, or even freeform.
Brushes, Pens, or the Brush Tool can also be used to paint on art. Some of the most common effects are:

All of these effects can be achieved with the Brush tool, but a few are easiest with a Pencil or Line. The Brush is typically used for free-form and free-form-like effects, and a Pencil is used for drawing straight lines. All the Brush Effect methods will be shown in detail later.

When the Brush Tool is used to paint, lines appear in two different colors. The color can be chosen to be similar to the background, and the reverse:
